Hooker Cockram Secures new Learning Innovation Building - August 2010

 Hooker Cockram has won the opportunity to build the Learning Innovation Building, for the University of Queensland at their St Lucia Campus.  The building features the impressive design work of Richard Kirk Architects and provides around 2,400m2  of gross floor area over four levels.  The project will commence construction shortly and is due for completion in 12 months. Construction value is approx $12 million.  Securing this project marks an important milestone for Hooker Cockram in Queensland as it continues to gear up and grow.

Hooker Cockram awarded largest IKEA store in the Southern Hemisphere - May 2010
Hooker Cockram Projects NSW have recently secured the new IKEA store in Tempe.  The 37,000 sqm store (equivalent to 20 football fields) with car parking for 1775 cars and 2.5 km of shopping, sits on a 2.3 hectare site and is located in Tempe - South West of Sydney CBD.  The building will be the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest IKEA Store and is expected to attract between two and three million visitors annually.

Hooker Cockram achieves Best Practice Accreditation - March 2010
Hooker Cockram Projects NSW has successfully met the requirements for Best Practice Accreditation under the NSW Department of Services Technology & Administration Contractor Prequalification and Best Practice Accreditation Scheme.  The Scheme benefits accredited contractors with preference over non-accredited contractors for selected tender opportunities.  This accreditation is a testament to Hooker Cockram's efficient and robust systems & policies.

Hooker Cockram wins 2010 MBAV Award - August 2010
Hooker Cockram was delighted to receive recognition at this year's Master Builders of Victoria Excellence in Construction Awards for the $40 Million CSR Gyprocket project, in the Excellence in Construction of Industrial Buildings category. State Manager Victoria - Director, Darren Milne accepted the award and later said, "This is a great credit to the team on this project."

NSW MBA Award - Private Schools, $10,000,001 & Over - November 2009
It is with great pleasure we announce that the New South Wales division have been awarded the Master Builders Excellence in Construction Award for the MLC Junior School Project in Burwood, Sydney.  The completed project is a state of the art education facility incorporating the most current and advanced intelligence of childhood learning and education.   The award was accepted by the Hooker Cockram Project Team and Senior Management as well as MLC School including the Principal.

7 million hours injury-free in China
Hooker Cockram has an exceptional safety record in Asia. Significant safety milestones include: Dow R&D, in Shanghai, China, where we have reached 7 Million working hours LTI Free Stryker in Suzhou, China: 2 Million working hours LTI Free Pfizer in Mumbai, India – Where we are constructing a PSB2 facility. This has achieved 3 Million working hours LTI Free

Hooker Cockram secures 2 top projects in Victoria - March 2010
We are delighted to announce that Hooker Cockram has recently secured the Australian Red Cross Blood Service fitout and Kingston Hospital

Hooker Cockram begins work on SMART project at UOW - April 2009
Hooker Cockram has increased its presence at University of Wollongong with a second current project, which commenced recently. The SMART (Simulation, Modelling and Analysis of Research and Teaching) Facility is due for completion late 2010 and will provide a local hub for research and education.

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd opens ADRI - September 2008
Australia’s Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, opened the world’s largest asbestos diseases and research institute named in honour of the late Bernie Banton. The influential asbestos diseases campaigner died in 2007 from the asbestos-related cancer mesothelioma.
